Hydro problem with the 1811

Ever since our cold spell here in TN my 1811 still isnt feeling good. After its started the tractor wont move unless at half throttle. Going WOT and it will refuse to budge in either direction and same happenes at idle. When wide open it becomes hard to put into reverse, and when I do have it moving and go to full throttle, and push the hydro lever to near top speed the trans makes a grinding noise then ballences out. I replaced hydro fluid and new filter and still have the same issue. Im completely stumped. :bash2::bash2::angry: Could it be time for a trunion repair? Or a loose linkage somewhere?

What fluid and filter did you use...??:HeadScratch:

I used the OEM filter from Cub Cadet and the Cub Cadet version of HyTran.

Did you check the rear coupler for a broken pin?

Has it been towed? That can destroy a pump if you are not careful.

If it has been towed it will likely be more catastrophic than that. I bought the carcass of a 782 that had been towed...the tractor wouldn't even roll because all the shrapnel inside from the motor cylinder block assembly jammed the output shaft.

Has been towed slightly. No more than a foot in my yard. :bigthink: However it was loaded onto my truck by being pushed. How do i check for shrapnel?

If all you did was push it, then you probably didn't damage the pump. They are designed to handle that much movement without any damage.

Towing is not necessarily a problem....

I didnt think towing would have caused that much harm to pump. When it quits raining here ill pull the trans cover and maybe the rear fenders and look the linkages and drive shaft over. Last time i looked the rag joint wasnt in the best or worst shape, and ill replace the pins just for added insurance.
