1864 Deck Rebuild

I am rebuilding the spindles on a 48" mowing deck. I have a question about the bearing race removel. Can I press the races out all the way thru? I know this is a stupid question, but I have not been in one of these before. Thanks for any help.

It would be most helpful if we knew the Model Number of the mower deck you have.

It is a 317. I bought this tractor Friday and it runs and looks great, but the owner said the spindles were rebuilt and when I took it apart the bottom seals were not there. It looks like they never were and he said the noise started when he got it back.

Problem Solved

This is what I have learned today. I bought 2 new spindles and rebuilt the other. The new spindles have the cheap wiper seals in the top and the bottom. The one that I tore down today has a heavy duty CR 12386 seal in the bottom and the top had the cheaper wiper seal. The seal only cost 3.50 so I was thinking of just installing it in the top and the bottom. I am going to post some pictures later. I included a picture of the ring that is in the center that the races go against. Maybe this will help someone else.
