Only Cub Cadets - 147 electric lift

I have a model 147 with an electric lift that has a stripped pinion gear. What would the chances be to switch the hydro for one with a ported pump like a 149 model ad the lift cylinder? This was my grandpa's tractor and I ended up with it when he passed away and I can say for sure that if I would have come across it any other way I would definately be sending it down the road. I'll give him credit he kept it running for over 30 years but I'm positive he never bought a new part for it the whole time he had it. I,ve been trying to restore it and some of the things I've found that my grandpa fixxed over the years would give Mcgyver a good run for his money. Took a few years and all that is left to fix is the lift. Any help would be greatly app. Thanks in advance.
