Opened up the newly aquired K301 this evening
 

The head does not look too bad.

Nor does the piston and deck. That is a cobweb in the top left of the pic, not a crack.

Did find a blown head gasket though.

After a little quick clean up we find a standard piston with no excess side movement. No ridge in the cylinder to speak of by feel anyway.

Next, the pan removal. Not too shabby down here either. And no stinkin balance gears.
