ok well i got my 122 mechanically sound! i went over it front to back up and down lol. i started with the engine, it had a blown head gasket but still ran ok, i replaced the head gasket and cleaned the cylinder head and everything looked good inside. changed the oil, rebuilt the carb, set the points, and put on a new air filter and spark plug. runs pretty decent now, except im still messing with it to get it to idle decent. then i put on the stack, i can swap from a muffler to a straight pipe easily for pulling but it is rather loud. next was the clutch, and boy was that alot of work. got a new driveshaft, throwout bearing, and teaser spring turned the pressure plates and a new friction disc. the clutch already had a red spring on it. then i had to redo the mount it just bowed out when you pushed the clutch down.
after that i added a creeper box, and flushed the rear with new fluid. then went over the wiring thourghly and put in a new ignition switch, and added front head lights and the voltage regulator that was missing.
i also got new 23x1050-12 deestones from work for the rear and filled them with antifreeze. that added approximatly 50 lbs per tire. so far she is running really well but i bent the plow bracket today dozing the rear yard, i guess ill have to beef that up next.
the next few things i want to get is wheel weights, tire chains, a mower deck, and im hoping to make my own three point cause i cant see spending a $125 or more for the 4 pieces for the original stuff...... but we shall see. this week i will be ordering the deestone tri ribs for the front and the bottom heavy duty hitch bracket from xtreme motor works. i really dont plan on redoing this tractor, but she doesnt really look that great estetically. but oh well it is a working tractor right?
