If you read one of the other threads you might already know I picked up an Original with a bubbified engine swap... I'm wondering what the original seat pan looked like for this tractor... Mine is solid with no drain holes, with a folded over edge around the outside of the seat... Before I go to the effort to weld the splits and cracks, I want to make sure it is the right seat.
Also... Is the serial number the stamped in number on the right side of the tranny case?
Third...the creeper shifter is aluminum, not steel. There are definitely two speeds to it, but high gear makes a bunch of noise, while low gear is silent.. Is this normal??? In general the tractor is very tight, steers nicely with little play, no weird noises from the gearbox or clutch, and it stops very well. It is a shame someone tossed the correct motor in favor of a Tecumpseh snow machine motor! At least it has 110 volt electric start!
And yes, it has the hood ornament, a decent grille, but no fenders or grille emblem.
