I went with the antifreeze myself - worked pretty well. I mixed 3 gallons antifreeze to 4 gallons water. The mix should keep the tires from freezing up anywhere above -20 F. In southwestern PA, this should suffice. As far as filling method - BREAK THE BEAD! It was by far the easiest method I could think of.
