I think you are a little off on that statement. Methanol can very easily cause permanent blindness by attacking the optic nerve. Yes there is Methanol in "booze" , but no were near 1/3 or 33%.

Shine makers understand this. This is why you either discard the "Heads -Tails" or bring your product to the first boil. This gets rid of the potential hazard of having Methanol (wood alcohol) in you final product.

I am not saying that you shouldn't use it, I have it my own tires, but you should be more aware of the dangers of it.
