From the schematic it looks like in the start mode (B to S) on the ignition switch they power the fuel solenoid off the starter through a diode. Then in the run mode on the ignition switch (B to R) it's powered off the R terminal. The diode blocks flow so the starter doesn't keep spinning while the tractor is running and burn up the circuit from the heavy load it pulls.
