I have a brand new quiet line in a 1450.. new iso mounts, new motor, new muffler.. and before the paint has burned off anything, the muffler box has already cracked and lost its bottom.
I don't know if it is possible to keep the box in its stock form for any length of time. Does anyone know if IH adressed this issue in any recalls or service bulletins?
I guess one could build a new box, out of heavier material.. but I bet it would crack too, or induce cracks in the aluminum piece that bolts on the motor. SOmeday I will be putting this motor in a 1250 with a new fabricated box..we will see if it works. I am seriously considering the solid mounts or hard plastic ones. I don't know if that will help or hurt the box.
