The plastic is almost perfect. I had a 1641 with busted pins that I fixed by using some 3M structural adhesive to glue some studs in the hole in the center of the broken off pins then I just put nuts and washers on. Lower one is a bit of a PITA because you have to pull the grill off to get at it but it was the only way I could come up with to save the panel. Worked good.
I'm thinking about making a mold and building a dash pod to house the gages rather than cutting up the dash. If I do that I may make a few of them for sale. May get stupid and see if I can get one of old racer buds to do them out of carbon fiber.
