Default The 149 is running....

I had been waiting for someone to show up to help me lift the Kohler off the workbench and put it in the 149. Today was super nice weather, no one showed up so I lifted the engine off the bench and put it in the tractor.

Sooner or later one has to take the bull by the horns.

Only problem was I put the wires on the S/Generator reversed. It wouldn't turn over, so I came in and looked at my pictures.

Corrected that and it spun a few time and started up and promptly blew a spot in the head gasket and leaked compression.

I took the new gasket out and put the old one back (which looked good to start with) torqued it down and started it back up. All seemed to be well, so I ran it around over the yard and pulled a good sized log out of my way.

More fine tuning is needed, but at least its running, I didn't see any oil leaking or fuel dripping.

Pictures maybe tomorrow. I did notice the transmission seemed to hesitate a little from slow to high speed, if I moved the lever up quickly. That fluid level was low too, but it was smooth and not noisy.

Been fun, got lots of help from you guys, of which I am most appreciative.
Be back tomorrow....
