Did quite a bit on the O today, tightened the drive belt, while I was under it I noticed the steering box was loose. So out comes the battery and steering wheel,and the dash tower. Since I had it that far I wondered how old that grease is
so out with the steering box! Well it was 50 year old grease
but the box,follower pin, and bearings are perfect! Just needed is a good cleaning and new grease
No slop in the steering now! Also figured out my carb leak,the bowl had a tiny pin hole in it, replaced it. Then I took the shifter cover off to check it out, clean oil and zero rust or water in it. It was a good day
