I wish I could find the link now, because the real catalyst for asking was a picture of a tiller that I saw...I think it might have been a simplicity model.

It looked identical, or close to the design of the cub 1a. Gear box, pulley/belt driven, identical hookup. I could have snagged it for about $100, but I would have been a lot of guessing and hoping. I suppose it wouldn't take much - even if all the other hookups are the same, and the belt drive were a fraction of an inch different, it would just be junk.

I'll keep looking. Not looking forward to the idea, but I think I'll be tilling our (new) garden with our little troy-built two stage tiller this year. That's okay, my forearms need the exercise.
