Get them out on a job
We (my father and uncle) been at this seems like forever. Grandfather started the business back in 45. And it's now down to just four employes.
We get everything fixed up through the winter months so it's ready to go out and earn it's keep!
We have a sand pit that we haul sand out to the farmers almost daily through the winter months. Spent most of the winter at the pit stripping clay to get down to the sand, so it can be run through a screening plant to remove any stones. See the farmers bed their cows with sand, and there can't be any stones in it, because it and the poo runs into a poo pit and stones would be a no-no for the equipment.
Now that the road limits go off, the equipment can be moved off to jobs that are on county roads. I know one farmer we worked for last summer, they were their the whole summer digging a poo pit that was five acres. Now this year the same farmer is making a (I think) six acre siliage pad to store his siliage.
Nice day, see ya!
