It is a pain in the butt, but yes thru the dipstick hole, or get the rear end way up in the air, take off the cover and fill from there. I think this is why a few of the guys here have put in case breathers to allow for easier filling. I have a huge syringe with a foot of clear plastic hose on it that I use for filling and topping off the rears with dipsticks.
