I just went through replacing the broken bolts in my 2072 rear end. You can see my thread and a picture of the bolts here on the forum. I got help and we welded a washer and nut onto the bolts and they unthreaded easily took maybe 10 minutes tops. Mine were not wallowed out so I did not replace the aluminum case.
