First one my Dad bought as a collector was an F14. Talk about a PITA to start. The PO used to park it on a hill and let it get rolling, pop the clutch, and start it. The fuel pump never seemed to hold its prime. The first tractor I bought was a 350 gas. I actually started with bigger tractors before getting into cubs. Easier to haul around and work on. Now I'm down to a 560 diesel, 1256 diesel, and 1206 wheatland for the big toys.
The cast rears are pretty desireable. Dad's F30 has round spokes all around. The worst part about the cast rears are the split rims. Pain in the rear to pop em loose sometimes and they like to bite.
