Engine noises and smoke deter me from purchases. The transmission is so bullet proof, a ride usually answers that question.
Leaks can be troublesome.
Anything else is far cheaper to fix than worry about, compared to buying a big box 3 year tractor.
Expect to have 1/8 to 1/4 turn of slop in the steering, if that isn't there, somebody was nice enough to fix it for you already!!
It would be nice to try it in some tall grass, that is about the only way to test the clutch (also easily fixed!!).
So in conclusion, if it don't smoke, no major leaks, and you are not afraid of a couple weekends of tinkering, GET IT!!
