Do yourself a favor, knock out/reinstall the roll pin on the shaft/gear.
Then you know it is turning/ok and wasn't just a "tight fit" with a sheared pin.
last thing you need to do now is ASSUME anything, it only takes a couple of minutes.
Those gerotor style pumps don't usually wear, so I'm with you on not replacing it if it shows no or little wear.
