0.187" stainless steel cut with my plasma torch.
I was originally going to just weld it on top of the existing trunion, but, then I read the post where someone said to make a U shaped part.
I cut one long leg off with a 4 1/2" grinder, cut off the existing trunion "box" and welded on the new part.
That turned out much better than doing a lot of welding and filing on the existing trunion.
The new trunion is 50% thicker, and stainless steel. I do not think it is going anywhere!!
