Well, thanks for all the encouragement. I guess I'll pull the engine this afternoon and take a look, then decide what to do. I expect I'll rebuild it. I have this illness that makes me want to take things that don't work and make them work again...regardless of cost...it's a difficult malady. Wish I had a Kubota diesel laying around. I'd make a 782D out of it.

Once I get the motor out, I'll take a couple pics, just for interest.
I have a 1650 I am rebuilding. It's been sitting, waiting for me to get time to finish painting parts. I wonder if I could put my K341 into the 682 as a temporary fix while I'm rebuilding the engine. Anybody tried that?
