I've never done the actual work, but here is what I do know.

An "O" axle is about the same width as a narrow frame axle. An "O" axle is about 2.75" thick at the mounting hole where NF & WF axles are about 3.25". The mounting hole in an "O" axle is 7/8" (I believe) and a WF and NF axle mounting hole is 3/4". Spindles, wheels and tires included an "O" front axle is about 33" wide, a WF (with narrow wheels) is about 35" and a WF with wide wheels is about 36" wide.

That said; if you are looking to make a number of modifications, it could prove to be an interesting project. I'm only guessing but I believe, with minimal effort, it would be possible to mount a NF or WF steering column in an "O" to get the drag link on the left side of the tractor.
