I have never found a aftermarket substitute. You can obtain this V/R from your local Cub Cadet or Kohler dealer(s). If that is not possible, then our fine sponsors would be more than willing to send you one.
One thing to check on the Q/L's. There is a "firewall" electrical connector. The charge wire connects into this connector. You may have a bad or high resistance connection in the connector (Male or female portion). Don't ask how I know this....

You can get it from NAPA in a pinch, they have to go to the catalog to find it. About $50 for a new one....
