Default Work In Progrees Photos

Here are 6 photos of status so far. I jacked up the front end so that the oil would stay in the transmission when I removed the oil filter. I had to remove the filter to gain access to the coupler. Only about 10 ounces of oil came out.

I cleaned with brake cleaner and put masking tape over the filter base to keep debris out of the system.

As you can see, the spirol pin is missing from the coupler hole. I am not sure if I can or should put the new pin in without splitting the tractor .... because I am not sure how difficult it will be to insert the new pin. I would not want to pound on the pin and put pressure on the transmission shaft without support on the other side and then damage the tractor.

My problem is that I need to mow my 2 acres of grass with a tractor and this Cub Cadet is all I have besides my push mower. I suspect that I will need to split the tractor, take a good look at the other potential wear items, and figure out how to get the grass cut in the meantime. I might end up going to Lowes and buying a "disposable" tractor to get me through the summer.
