The snubber is adjustable and even though yours is smashed, you might have some adjustment left to make it work for you. When you can do it, I would definitely recommend pulling the engine and doing a cradle mod, replacing your snubber, adding a super steer mod and a muffler crutch.

I am doing all of these things to my 1650.

I agree with Bill! The stubber and ISO guide is in the tech section of the site. There are shims you can take out or add to get the proper spacing.

I would think that steel would end up making a racket hitting the frame.
