A couple of other simple things is wet grass will clog up the chute, cutting tall grass to close to the ground, and tall grass seems to hold moisture well. After it stalls etc look under the deck after shutting down the engine, make sure blades are not turning etc, if you have a bunch of grass that's clogged up in balls etc or the underside of deck is coated with thick wet grass that's stuck to the deck then the problem is wet grass/cutting to close combination. If the grass can't discharge freely it will bog everything down.
