A better way to increase power is to advance the pump. On the CNH tractors and skid steers I work on most of the pumps are the same. The only difference between tractors in the same class is the amount of advance. When replacing a pump on a unit out of warranty I have always set it to the higher end of the scale. Also the on the black smoke part of this disscution the extra fuel can increase your EGTs giving you a little more boost. Just remember turbos work off heat not off the velocity of the exhaust coming out of the manifold.
