[122cub]

I just recently got a 1250 with some wiring issues, it first was just the ignition system but the further I dig the more twisted and taped wires I find. I've gotten the points coil and charging system rewired and attempted to start it. The mower turned over fine then all of the sudden nothing. I've gotten the trusty test light and volt meter out and went to town. I found that I'm getting current to the push button starter and it will carry current across the switch until you hook it up to the activation post on the solinoid. So I thought maybe that was my problem so I took it of cleaned it and hooked it up to the batt charger and made sure it was activating and it was. So next I was curious to see if I touched the hot lead to the starter lead if it would turn over and no luck terminals are clean and it has 11.82 volts to the lead. So now I'm puzzled I can hook the starter lead to the batt charger and ground it and it will turn over but won't off the hot lead can put the batt in my 122 and it will start I cannot figure my problem out I need some tips or advice I'm really wanting to use the tractor to mow with but can't get it to turn over any help would be appreciated
