first of all it's not a good time to sod in the midwest in the mid 90's you are likely to end up with a lot of dead sod
if it is the whole lawn I would try seeding first covering with straw or Scotts seed patch but maybe you have alread committed to sod
i though i saw you were in Iowa but now see Texas maybe using different sod than me
