There are two types of spring assists for both the narrow and wide frames. I believe, and I may be wrong, that one is a Brinly and the other is Cub Cadet.
One attaches to the lift bar on the right side of the tractor. The other attaches to the left side and does not require the lift bar from a 3 point hitch. Both attach to the rock shaft and ease the amount of force to lift using the lift arm.
