I decided to get the motor in the donor 2072 running today. I swapped heads, intake and exhaust and It wouldn't start. Bad starter. Grabbed the starter from the other m20 sitting on the bench. Another Bad starter..
So I pulled both starters apart hoping they had different problems and I got lucky. I was able to get a good one out of the 2. Cleaned it all up, re lubed the bushings, reassembled and painted it. Threw it back in with sticky paint and it fired right up.
Sounds good. No smoke. Tomorrow I'm going to clean it up and get it in the shiny one.
