I'm going to assume the your 71 has the same style hookup as my 122 ( your 102 ).
First, do you have the lift bracket that attaches to the lift handle which pivots on the footrest rod?
Here's the QA-42 on my 122
Closer side view
Although the QA-36 and QA42 are desihned for use with the quick attach mounts, they can be used on tractors like ours without that feature. The metal bracket shown is a flat plate with a 1/2" pin but you can use bolts instead ( I make those brackets to sell ).
The back hole ihas a nut welded to the frame from the factory. All you need is a 1/2-13 NC ( coarse thread ) bolt and washer for that hole. For the forward hole, you'll need a bolt, nut and washer for each side. I highly suggest putting the bolt in from the inside of the frame as it makes tightening it much easier.
Like this ( 42" front blade shown )
After you have the two bolts in each side, it's time to attach the belt. I find it's easiest to remove the front screen and loosen the rod for the PTO . I put the belt on the PTO , readjust the rod to proper length and pull the PTO lever back. I turn the auger by hand while getting the belt on the pulley. Check belt tension and reinstall frony screen. ( I have big hands, maybe you could install it with the screen in place )
Last thing to do is install the lift rod. iirc, it's 32" center distance from the bends.
Make sure you lubed/greased the snow thrower too.
