If you have a donar rear end from a 982 its a bolt in swap. The 982 will have the correct reduction gear for the super garden tractor hydro pump.

You can take all the interals from your aluminum rear end and swap them into a cast iron housing say from a 1450, 149, etc. but that job is more complicated as you will get into settng up the gears in the rear end and such.

That's what I was wondering! I had found a 982 rear end on E-bay a few weeks ago but let it slip away... I definitely am looking for the easiest swap I can find plus the added weight and durability! Thank you!!
