The tang on the spring goes in the hole in the idler pulley arm...it appears to have jumped out for some reason. A 44A will not properly fit on any NF tractor...you might be able to get it on there, but from what I've heard it won't lift high enough to be useful. That deck is pretty rough-looking for $150...I don't think I could sell a rebuilt one for that. I've bought nicer-looking decks for $30 in the past.
