starts and idles...recheck the carb float level and main jet (the idle screw/jet operates on its own as far as I know...doesn't come into play when load is applied). might want to inspect the plug also to check for heavy carbon build.
I'm obviously an amatuer here but until the pros arrive, I would do a continuity check on the wire coming from the points and also on the plug wire.
