It does not to me sound fuel related to me whatsoever. If it is the restored tractor in your avatar I would be looking at ground issues. I would make sure where all ground wires are attached it is clean and unpainted surfaces. A loose motor will also give you grounding issues. BTDT Somehow you need to check the hot side of the coil when this problem is happening to see if the 12v is dropping out momentarily.
