Pretty simple really. I have a rusty, beat up good running 1864. Implement lift would not raise as described in a previous post. Seems like the trouble is in the steering box and maybe check valve causing this? Not in the mood to tackle the steering box at the moment. Plastic on the front end is shot. But,I don't like chipping rust.
I bought a 1864 chassis that had a good PS gear and hydro in it. Bought a nice, rust free, clean 1641 with a blown 16 Vanguard. Good plastic.
It's all changed over to make the 1641 into a nice 1864 except for the steering arm and transferring the 1864 engine in place.
I have five 1641's, one 1860, one 1862, one 1864, one 2084, a whole garage full of other wide/narrow frame cubs. Don't have enough good plastic to cover all the cyclops I have.
I didn't know just how good the 1864 with the 54" mower was until I got one. So, I want to make the one I have my new sweetheart.
I always wanted a Super Cub. Got one this summer but even though it rides great, cuts great, it's not the best, most manueverable tractor for me.
PS. I will sell a bunch of the old nf/wf Cubs if anyone wants to make a volume buy and don't want to ship and don't try to steal them.
