Next issue, as I have already resigned myself to pulling the motor and playing with the rings and valves come spring between the snow to mow seasons.
I have noticed a buzzing sound coming from under the seat, think that it's too loud to be a normal sound, and reading about the hydro reliefs...
Well I pulled the center cover and then monkey wrenched the fender cover off (thanks to whoever recommended PB Blaster, those footrest nuts were a PITA!) to see the hydro unit covered in about an inch of greasy, grimy, dirty, you know what all over it. After a minor cleanup (going to take some degreaser and hose to it tomorrow when I can see) I start it up and sure enough it's buzzing from the unit. Taking a screwdriver and ear method ensuring I was far enough from that hydro cooling fan blades (one is chipped 1x1 inch, the rest look good) that bit me once before. I isolated the buzz to the reliefs themselves. Now my unit has a pinhole on top of the valves, and both seem to be weeping fluid (would have never noticed it if I never cleaned the grime off of it) not much, but I wouldn't expect any at all.
My question is, what am I looking at now?
