I am new at this and have a question about leaving the gear-box mounted on the tractor. I want to get ideas from viewers if the gear-box is generally always left on the tractor year-round or do guys pull them off when not being used. I thought it would be a little extra weight which would be ok for traction in snow, etc. The problem I see with taking it off is when you loosen the lower bolts on the mounting bracket to the rear axle housing cover you will loose hytran fluid (which is not cheap). What do you think?
