i just put a 3 1/2 inch diameter cast pulley on mine and id say its about perfect. it throws wet snow about 20-30 ft if i can keep it in the sweet spot. and if i go too slow to keep it full it throws it just far enough to not land back on the blower like it used to.
i tried a 3" first but was way too fast and belt slipped very easily.
