Been working on the Original!
Have been terrorizing the local pulling track with it and having a ball. We've pretty much worked out most of the bugs with the belts and have plenty of power.
the 23x10.5x12s were the weak link and we always dug in deep before we ran out of power. We've added some weight and that helped a little, but still we were spinning.
Of course, the natural progression is to go bigger!
We installed a set of 26x12x12s Firestone 23 floatation tires from M. E. Tire. We also got some 10.5-inch rim rings and hubs from them so we could set the backspacing for our application. Here I'm installing the rim for final fit before we pulled out the metallic hot glue. Gotta keep all feet and arms inside the vehicle now!
Heading out tomorrow to try her out and see what gives first, the engine, the belt or traction! We've been pulling in 2nd and even throttling back, spun each time ,so even if we need to go down into first with the taller tire, that should be fine. Will let you know more once we've had a chance to try her out.
