Frankly I had no technical reason for considering the 26's, I just thought they looked better on the tractor, and I still do. But I realize that they represent a gearing change that might hurt the tractors grunt when it's time to pull my plow or a back blade. I've got wheel weights and will load the tires so I think I'll have enough traction. Always open to more data, though.
