Too much fuel and you will wash your cylinder down and not have enough lube. Run it like that for long and it will lead to bad compression and eventually you have a big boat anchor. Ask your self this...If they could of done it from the factory why didn't they? Lean is safe for a diesel. Can there be more power made...yes! But there is a fine line where things run great and when they no longer run at all. Like the old saying...You got to pay to play. I for one would leave it stock and enjoy it for many more years than try to impress the neighbors with smoke and need to spend money on it later. Good Luck
