It's be nice to use all 3 speeds that its supposed to have but one tooth chipped off a gear isn't going to keep it from engaging and doesn't mean it will run like that for 10 years or 10 feet. It'll be just fine for now unless I absolutely can't live without 3rd gear. It's not like I have to drive this to work, it's a 40 year old lawn mower...
If you don't want to "leave it as is", then fix it for God's sake! Download a freakin' service manual for the 124 in the tech library, it gives you a step by step on how to take it apart! Don't sit here complaining and whining about how your transmission won't go into gear and then get pissed off at Duke and the rest of us for giving you suggestions and experiences. There have been two of us at least who have given you a brief explanation on how to inspect the gears and how to possibly take it apart. BUT, you clearly shown your lazyness by saying "itl be alright", bringing on the pictures of what happens to a transmission with stripped gears. The only thing I get out of this thread is that you were absolutely proud to tell us that you had a screwed up tranny. So thanks for the info!

Mods, if you feel this is too harsh, delete it...ban me...whatever you gotta do.
