Another 1650 Starting Issue
In working on my 1650, I noticed that there was no clearance between the exhaust valve and the tappet - the manual says .017/.019 for exhaust. My father-in-law had made adjustments to this valve before I received it. I made the proper adjustments, just before the my starter issues (previous thread) crept up, so I haven't had a chance to see if things work better. Would the lack of clearance between the tappet and exhaust valve cause a hard start due to the automatic compression release function on the Kohler 341?
