1) The Model number you provided tells that this Cub Cadet was sold by a CCC (Cub Cadet Corporation) Dealer... See that 100 at the end - that is how you tell... if it had been sold by an IH dealer it would have a 399 there not the 100...

2) The one-up Serial Number you provided (746056) tells that this Cub Cadet was made towards the last of the 1985 model year production (737625 - 747224) and not likely to still be using some "left over" emblems.

3) While I suppose anything is possible, the above facts leave me to believe that the IH decalomania found on your 1512 was applied after it left the factory - most likely by the first PO or by a dealer at his request or some such...
