On another subject, we have plenty of spare early rear ends around-any reason to swap the rear end for a steel housing as long as the alloy one works as new?

According to the parts book on a 1512, it should not have the splined rear output shaft on the hydro. I should just have a hole for a pin in it. The splined rear shaft was for a rear PTO, but, near as I can tell, that wasn't an option for the 1512. Yes, you can put a 3-point hitch on it. It will operate off the same cylinder as what the deck lift uses. The outlets on the front are for front power attachments, such as a hydraulic angle blade. As far as the rear end and hydro is concerned, If you want a cast iron rear, it should be an easy swap. With the splined output shaft, I am wondering if someone transplanted a hydro off a SGT to your machine. Here is a link to the man that most of us here at OCC would recommend for a rear 3-point
