I have had the same problem in the past with gas running out the carb. What I found was the pin that holds the float to the carb was bound up. The pin was tight going thru the little ears on the carb as well as were it went thru the float. I polished the pin and the problem was gone. Something to look at . Hopefully that will work for you.
