1. I did not touch the throttle rod. It is the same length it was bere.
2. Not sure exactly how fast it goes or will go. I just know it is going to fast. If you give it any throttle at all it races up from idle. Never begins to stop. I always pull it back quickly to avoid damage.
3. The carb (walbro) was rebuilt. Bowl, float, needles remove. Throttle shaft/butterfly left alone.
All of my linkage is good and clean. Gov looks good. Gov control arm (riveted internal rod) is tight and straight on the cross shaft.Gov was never even removed from the block. I am going proceed with reassembly and see if I can adjust it out. As a side note, I have been through these engines before. As far as I know I am going about this just as I always do, and have never had an issue. I do agree that something is not right.
